Team Members & Roles
StagePulse works fine as a solo business. It also scales to a team — you can invite helpers, movers, admins, or a business partner, and each person sees only what they should.
Roles
Four roles, each with progressively less access:
| Role | Can do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything. Manages billing, invites/removes users, edits business settings. Only one owner per business (ownership can be transferred, not duplicated). |
| Admin | Create and edit projects, send invoices, manage contacts, invite new Members and Movers. Can't change billing or remove the owner. |
| Member | Create and edit projects, view invoices and contracts. Can't manage settings or invite people. |
| Mover | View projects only. Useful for furniture movers who need to know the schedule and addresses but shouldn't see financials. Can mark themselves unavailable for a project. |
If you're not sure which role to assign, Member is the right default for most teammates. Upgrade to Admin later if they prove out.
Inviting Someone
- Go to Profile → Team
- Click + Invite Team Member
- Enter their email and pick a role
- Send
They get an email with a magic link (valid 7 days). They click it, set a password, and they're in. No manual account creation needed.
What Happens If They Ignore the Invite
- Invitations expire after 7 days. The link stops working.
- You can resend to extend the link, or cancel and start over.
- The invitee's email has to match when they accept — if you invite
jane@example.com, they can't accept fromjane.smith@example.com.
Managing Existing Members
From the Team page you can:
- Change a role — e.g., promote a Member to Admin
- Remove a member — they lose access immediately; their created projects/contacts remain attached to the business
- See the pending invitations — resend, cancel, or just watch them expire
Seat Limits
During your trial and on the standard plan, all teams get unlimited seats — invite as many movers, admins, or helpers as your business needs. There's no per-seat pricing.
Role in Practice
Here's how roles typically get used in a real staging business:
- Owner — you (the stager running the business)
- Admin — a business partner, bookkeeper, or lead designer who handles day-to-day operations
- Member — a junior designer or part-time helper who creates projects, handles contacts, but doesn't touch invoices
- Mover — furniture movers who need to see addresses and install dates but nothing financial
Mobile App Access
All roles can use the mobile app with the same sign-in credentials as web. Mover role sees a simplified interface — project list and schedule — without buttons for the features they don't have access to.
See Mobile App.
What Teams Don't Support Yet
- No sub-teams or groups: everyone is on one business. No "East Coast crew" vs. "West Coast crew" distinction.
- No granular permissions: roles are fixed. You can't craft a custom "can see projects but not edit" role — use Mover for that.
- No activity audit log: there's no "who did what when" history. If a project gets edited, you can see the current state, not who touched it.
- Can't disable an account temporarily: removal is removal. If you need to pause access (someone's on leave), the workaround is to remove and re-invite later.
